A necklace composed of thirty one individual rectangular pieces of dyed and embossed acrylic measuring 40mm x 11mm x 4mm, set on a silver chain. The component pieces are set on their edges and are separated by a small rigid tube or bead. Each piece is individual in design, the surface pattern created using pressed passion flower leaves. Designer and maker Sue Gregor describes the process by explaining that 'they are made using my own method of dying and embossing plastic which I call fossilized Plastic due to the fine detail which it is possible to capture on the embossed surface so they are similar to fossils.' The light shining through the separated components creates subtle, changing shadows on the skin. Designed and made by Sue Gregor, c. 2016.
